During the Expo the main square of Emmen will be the place to show the unique eco-system of the North of the Netherlands. The three chemical clusters (Emmen, Heerenveen and Delfzijl) will be represented in special domes, together called Chemport square. Within these domes not only visitors of the expo but also children and passers-by are inspired, updated and informed of the latest circular and bio-based developments in the field of plastics, composites, fibres and yarns.
But there is more. Other developments taking place in the region are also represented in the Chemport square. For example, people can find information about hydrogen, the transition to sustainable energy, bio-based building blocks and intermediate chemicals in the chemical industry and learn about plastics recycling technologies and innovations. The Chemport square connects the bio-based economy and the bio-based society with knowledge partners like NHL Stenden, DCTech, Dutch TechZone and BLOOM.
